A really good deal came up for a 302 from a 91 Lincoln town car with an auto tranny. my question is would this work for my 75 mav coupe? im pretty sure ive seen that it will around the forum i just wanted to double check. and also i wanted to convert it to a 5 speed later on, could i do that with this 302 without much mods? Thanks for the help guys i appreciate it!

that would work really well. you can get the entire efi system or convert it to carb. the trans will work well also. you will probly want to put a shift kit in the trans so it will shift like a hotrod not a lincon.

I wonder if the Lincoln engines are built on the same line as the Fords are? Reason I ask is my dad passed me down an 88 Lincoln Towncar 5.0 that I used as a road car for a couple of years. That was one of the smoothest running engines I have ever seen. You could honestly balance a nickle on top of the engine at idle and rev the thing slowly up to about 2k before it fell.
Got 25 mpg on the interstate usually running 65-85.
    Loved that engine

it will work no prob.....bear in mind if you go carb you will need an adapter for the transmission cable.....
