Hey guys i was wondering if a set of 69 mustang headers would fit on my car (71' Grabber 302) being that the two engine bays are really similar? These to be exact Patriot Exhaust H-8426-1
    Thanks!:16suspect

I've never heard of anyone using tri-y's on mavericks....

and actually they're not really similar.

You can fit a big block in a stock 69 stang. You cant on a maverick....

the firewall is also different, some mustang headers don't clear it.

the headers that do fit our cars are here:

i have actually looked at the same headers and wondered the same thing .Now having said that i would think they would fit but i could be wrong ,My reason for saying they should fit is the headers in Jegs and summit that list for maverick also have 64-73 mustang as well as cougar so why would they not thats just my thinking

    the pasanger probably would fit

but the driver side #6 and 8 look too wide by crosing over #7 and probably would hit the steering box

Try em. They'll either fit or they won't. They'll fit a V8 Ranger (83-96) in addition to a 65-70 Mustang. Only way to find out is to try it.

Even the early (first edition) Mustangs have a wider space between the shock towers/frame rails than the Mavericks and Comets do. Many headers for the early Mustangs come off the heads too far for our cars.

The Tri-Y's generally tuck closer to the heads than most headers, that's why the Ranger guys have used em (myself included) The driver's side actually clears the Ranger's steering gear like they were made for them. Hedman's 88400's also fit Rangers better than their own Ranger swap headers.
