Pictures are self explanatory. A buddy of mine gave me a decent looking electric fan. I'm going to go ahead and mount it with the through-the-radiator zip kit and see what happens.

Cleaning up all of that battery acid was hopeless. It instantly oxidized all of the metal it touched.

Flex fans suck, period. Regular fans suck horsepower. Electric is the way to go.

I am going to re-tell the story about why I went with an electric fan.

I was under the hood revving my car, and this guy was watching me and helping out and said "I hate those flexfans. I had a buddy die when a blade broke off and hit him in the head."

    So now I am scared.

Then not even 2 days later, I am at a local shop where I know a couple guys, and we are again under the hood, and SAME DAMNED THING!!! "I knew a guy that got killed by the fan blade breaking off and hitting him in the head."

Not sure if it is the same guy or not, but still I got two "warnings" in less than a week. So I immediately hit the junk yard and swapped out to an electric fan.

If you are going to use a flex fan get an aftermarket performance fan. They are rated to 10000 rpm!

Speaking of fan horror sotries. My dad used to work for the police, towing cars.
He towed one car for some reson to the impound lot and opened the hood.
There were four fingers sitting in engine bay where the fan sliced them off.

    It was crazy.

Yeah... Electric fans only in my cars. Four of the last five engine-driven fans I've owned were quickly replaced by electrics. Even my beat-to-hell Kidnapper Van that I maintained barely enough to keep it from pitching a rod through the block got an electric fan.

    Flex Fan Incident

    Hi Scooper:
Just thought I'd add what I've leared here in Florida. Mr.Leo Audette age 31 is no longer with us since he was revving his 302 on his 72 Grabber
and the fan let go and opened him up from front to rear. This accident occured last year . He was a member of CAMEO and now his wife Cat is restoring the car along with his harley sportster. I knew Leo as a kind easy going dude who had a zest for life and its a shame it was lost due to these stupid flex fans. I've got electric on mine all but one with a flex yet and thats scheduled to be changed this month. Even though its supposed to be a high-revving performance fan. I'm not going to believe all I hear. Just thought I'd pass this on. Electric is the way to go . :thumbs2: Cometized
