That's definitely a slick setup!! Kinda like a 4-link that rides on leaf springs instead of coil springs.....very nice!!(y)

Interesting slider set up in place of the rear shackel. Thanks for posting the pics.
Does the bellcrank and linkage go to a torsion bar?

    Bell Crank and linkage ?

    Yes it does ,

The torsion tube goes through each inner wheel well just behind the seat

we added an upper torque box just inside directly above the front leaf spring mount

It has 3 holes so the upper front of the torque arm can be raised or lowered to change the instant center

This allows it to work like a real 4 link stiil acceptable within NSCA and Pro's stock suspension rules

The rearend is still bolted to the leafs and not floated as a ladder bar and a real for link requires

As a matter of fact , If the system was ever protested at an event , we could remove the upper link at any time ,turn up the dampening on the shocks , and just run the caltracs

We found with the added upper torque arm ,we needed very little " extension dampening " in the shocks [ we backed the dampening right off ]

This is because with the upper link , and it's proper adjustment ,
the forces of " anti squat " ballance or neautral out after the initial rearend housing downward travel of 1" or so

Check it out in the vidieo , look carefully at the rearend housing as the transbrake is released , you will see the tires get a quick initial hit downward to plant them

Were now just using the necessary amount of power to plant the tire and as the forces of the bars and there geometry equal out , then were able to use all the power to move the car forward :)

Very interesting. Thanks again Len. How long did it take to develop this and how many times has the rear end been in and out?:D It sure works well. I downloaded the video. Looks like you almost break the 60' beam with the rear tires. I have two little boys that had to see it over and over and over... then they wanted to see the video of "the blue car" CometGt1974's video over and over and over..... I really enjoy the videos - but a 3 year old can just slap wear something out.:slap:
