I strongly agree that hollywood needs to learn to build crash up cars the way they do makeup, instead of just buying cars to destroy. if you dont think your car is popular enough then drive it to a car show once and watch people walk past the cobra replica to comment on your mav. Not to mention all the other models of car that are already popular classics they destroy for "film making"..... all of this is besides the point of how lame i think this whole franchise of films has been :p

ya they have a habit of destroying good cars like the mustang in the second one. but on the other hand it may give our cars a popularity boost and in the long run we may be able to finaly get some recongnition from the parts companys.

aren't mustang restoration parts cheaper than mavericks?

If they get more interest surely npd or year one will pick up on it.

    i hope.

It would be great to have these cars seen by millions and hopefully gain some popularity and interest in restoring them. People here locally are constantly stopping to look at our cars. I work nights at a convenience store and drive one or the other to work so get people stopping and looking a LOT. I can't tell you how many go on about what great derby cars they make and I get offers to buy for that purpose all the time since it is a very popular past-time around here. I would love to see people want them because they are cool, not because they are great derby cars. Hearing that people want them for derbys makes me angrier than Hollywood wanting to wreck them for a movie.

I don't see where it says anywhere that they will be using a Maverick, all I could find was a comment from someone, just commenting about them making another movie....

Other than having to get a few bumper stickers printed that say "I had this car before the damn movie!" I don't see how this could be bad for us.

Who here hasn't wished Mavericks would be recognized for what they now are, rather than what they used to be?

Best case, we'll see the value of our cars go up, parts become available, and get a little bit more recognition. More likely people won't even notice though unless the Mavericks play a prominent role.

And honestly, as much as people here including myself hate the "rice" crowd, don't forget that we're all driving hodrodded econo cars ourselves.
