After close to 2 years having paint and sitting in the garage, I get off my ass and install the drivetrain today. OK, i've only had the drivetrain a couple of months, so I haven't put it aside too long. Drivetrain is a ford racing crate motor with a small cam, gt40y aluminum heads, original cobra efi intake, 24# injectors with doug thorley shorties, a lentech BUILT aod etc etc... Here are the fun pics!
i've been swearing up and down it would be at the knotts ford show for three years straight now, lol. I plan on knotts for sure next april, and i've finally got the ball rolling. I'll throw it in local shows too. I've sort of run out of cash though, and the bodyshop that I paid mass $ to do the body resto went out of business, so stuff like more re assembly and re chroming of the bumpers and trim never got done. Sucks, but I got my car back, and at least it has paint on it. We've owned it since 72, original owners (mother)...and I just want to cruise in it again.
if i could figure out how to post pic's you would ee my progress. im working from all diff angles on this car. to date complete rebuild on all brakes- drum to stay original. complete interior resto. motor is out and stipped to bare block. gas tank is out-was for cleaning. all fuel and brake linses are out. complete under coating done. now im looking for parts{and unemployed}.
Sounds good Jeremy! hope we can meet up sometime, i just have to put some more work into my mav http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=15529
I hear you about being broke....I went out and spent the rest of my maverick cash on this last week I'm sadly addicted to the vintage fords, and I've literally run out of project car cash. I'm going crazy selling off crap in my garage and rebuilding t5's to bring my cash stockpile back up and my continuing 66 project, which has a t5 and a ford racing crate motor
