Cowl repair

    OK IM READY TO DO MY COWL REPAIR AS THE LAST STEP BEFORE INSTALLING MY NEW RUNNING GEAR, A: I NEED TO KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND STEEL HATS TO WELD IN. B: CAN I CUT THE VENT TOP OUT WITHOUT DRILLING OUT ALL THOSE SPOT WELDS IT SEEMS COUNTER PRODUCTIVE TO SWISS CHEESE IT, HAS ANYONE DONE THIS??? ALSO I JUST INSTALLED A NEW WINDSHIELD AND SEAL SO I DONT WANT TO REMOVE THE WINDSHIELD.ALSO NEW FLOOR PANS I DO NOT WANT TO RUST.. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. ALSO I TRIED TO DUCT TAPE THE VENT GRILLS TO TEMPORARILY STOP THE LEAK AND STILL HAD WATER LEAKING IN.????? NOT SURE WHERE IT WAS LEAKING IN. LOTS OF BLACK SEALER LATER IM LOST. HELPPPPPP.:bs:

    do you know that you have rust in the cowl??? i cut out the top vents and fiberglassed the whole inside of the cowl using por15 its rock hard and sealed then welding the vent close so now water would get in many people have done it plus it looks clean with no vents there

    Talk to 71gold. He went through the cowl louver and fixed his. He might even tell you how he did it! His looks great!
