Have a leak bad enough that gas is running onto and pooling on the manifold (1/4" deep pool). Checked the bolts and none are loose. I will post pics as soon as i get them uploaded.
I guess I did get them. The leak looks like it is in the front under the gas filter where the carb bolts to the manifold. Should I just rebuild the carb? How hard is that to do? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Gail (MamaSmo) I can't upload pics yet cause I don't have enough posts yet so used Mike's account.
Thats what we thought. We picked up a rebuild kit at O'Reilly's. I read the instructions (mostly pictures, must be a guy thing). I am about to start taking it apart. I get to do it all by myself (with the hubby looking over my shoulder giving "suggestions") so wish me luck.
Missing pieces? when I took this thing apart I never found the Weight - Disc. ball or the Ball - pump disc. check. Is that a problem? I am absolutely certain I did not drop them. They would have fallen into the tub I was using to catch anything I might drop. My car seemed to be running fine until the leak this morning. I got two different diagrams with the parts numbered differently. The missing pieces were numbered 24 and 25 one one sheet and 28 and 29 on the other. I don't want to put this back together if those are important parts.
Thanks Thank you for responding again! I couldn't wait so I just put it back with what I had. It was fun! I already got it back on and she runs great! I was scared when I saw the diagram but once you get into it it isn't that bad. Must have been recently rebuilt because it was pretty clean. I think other than that leaky gasket like you said, there were no other issues. Time will tell. Again, Thank you. Gail
