shackle ext?????

Shackles can be bought for $15 at auto zone... Thats were i got mine but wrong idea... I am looking for a place to rearch them.

I just went to autozone and they had them on their shelves... Ask the workers... They might be able to help you..

EDIT: Part number is 13-4000.

 

I put Granada rear springs on mine and it raised it 2" over stock. I ended up having ot put lowering blocks on it to get it setting right. They are coming off soon and Maverick springs are going on.

1973Maverick357 Your gold Maverick looks nice. Thanks for the info on were to purchase shakles, I have new shocks and bushings on my Maverick but I need the rear end a little higher.

 

They make 1" longer shackles for Mustangs, these will work on Mavericks, but you'll have to re use your Maverick bushings (mustang used lager ones) plus, the bolt size will be a bit bigger, but you can get the Maverick bushings to fit. I have done this, and it works. Raised my car 3/4"

 

The 15.00 lift shackles are a bad idea my hornet came with a pair of them dang things. They make handling very unpredictable and not fun.

 

Yeah i said it was the wrong idea but if thats what he has his heart on i helped him in his search for them..

That sounds like a much better idea. I don't trust the Chinese bolts that came in the shackles on mine, I replaced them with good grade bolts from the parts store. The Mustang ones will work and look factory like, plus have the better hardware. I may look into a set of those myself.
