Dale and I took the Maverick to a show put on by a local AACA chapter. It was the perfect way to spend the 4th of July; looking at beautiful cars and just relaxing, shooting the breeze with the other car owners and getting some sun. The Maverick got a lot of great comments, the most often heard was " You don't see too many of these anymore." When the club's judges were done judging the Maverick, I overheard one of them say that the Maverick was one of the best looking Mavericks he ever saw. I told Dale that he hadn't seen anything yet. He really should come out to Carlisle sometime and check out all the great looking Mavericks there. In the end, out of the nine cars in our class the Maverick won first in it's class. Another thumbs up to our favorite cars. I hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July.
way to go jean. :bananaman :bananaman that's like a payment on the hard work you and dale have done...frank...
I went to a local Car Show today also. Out of the 172 cars there, I was the only 70's Comet. Not one Maverick showed up. I got a lot of the samething, you don't see many of these anymore. I know one thing, I need a paint job. All the beautiful cars & there shiny paint jobs. My original paint job just isn't cutting it anymore. Hopefully this fall-winter I'll get my wish, I've been saving my penny's. Anyway, I have to agree with you....it's fun sitting & talking with everyone about there cars. What a wonderful way to spend the 4th of July in the sun.
congrats, jean... it kills me to hear those stories... i am getting antsy to get mine done just to get it to the first show... again, congrats
A well deserved congrats Jean. I hope you guys can make it to the Roundup. You will not find a bigger group or appreciative people anywhere else.
Thanks everyone. As much as I would love to go to the Round Up, there is just no way we can make it. We are so buried in work right now that we barely have time to take Sunday off let alone almost a whole week. One of these days I hope we can get out there. In the mean time, take lots of pictures for those of us who can't go.
