Well, I went Thursday and it was a big Bust! The N.O.S. bumper that I was buying wasn't in any better shape than the one on my car. Drove back Saturday and found both items that were at the top of my list. Got a rear bumper from Tri-City Plating and what a GREAT looking CHROME JOB! I originally looked at the Bumper Boys piece and they weren't even close to the quality of the Tri City piece. I also picked up a sport lamp bezel and switch. The switch still had the knob on it and the switch has both the male and female wire end. Got it for a Great price too! As soon as I got up this morning I couldn't wait to clean and shine up the bezel. Now it almost looks like it was N.O.S. Heres the pics. I saw a few Grabber hoods. Not in great shape but repairable. Anyone else find anything interesting.
They wanted $300.00 plus a $40.00 core plus sales tax. I bought it for $310.00. I used my tax ID from work and filled out one of their tax exempt forms and I now can keep my core. Which on a scale of 1 to 10 is maybe a 7 or so. Their Chrome is Excellent quality. The are no blems or grind marks anywhere. The finish is mirror perfect. I am very very happy with this purchase.
Not too bad for $50 I'd say... My dad also picked up four tires from Vintage for his '64 Buick convertible. My father-in-law picked up a rear bumper from Tri-City for his '66 T-Bird. My wife picked up a steering wheel for 10 bucks. And my buddy picked up some Recaro bucket seats for $100. All in all a great Saturday!
