I was thinking about this last night, I have 2, V-8 cars, sitting without engines or transmissions, and they don't even sit that high....
Yep kinda looked like the one in your pic on the trailer in your signature, looks a little better now just to get the camber and toe-in set again and it should be right then....I hope!
The one on the trailer, had a transmission and a trunk full of stuff in the picture, I thought about that after I posted that.
Holy Potholes Batman!! I cut my coils and the bumpsteer is gone! totally didn't realize I had it til I cut the coils. Now that it's gone I totally know that I had it hahaha
Spring perches were from other car and like new as well as the springs, it's all good now drives great and stops even better!
Did you put the spring stops on the perch toward the inside? If they are on backwards the spring will push the UCA down farther and make the front end sit higher. You can see in this pic the end of the coil goes to the inside or rear ever which way you want to look at it.
Yep you can see in this pic the springs are in correct. http://mmb.maverick.to/attachment.php?attachmentid=42792&d=1274724373
Well it's BAAAAAAACK!!! ok went to alignment shop again, dude says it's bumpsteer and he can't tell me what to do....went to an old school alignment shop guy there tells me the tie rods are too low and causing bumpsteer...he suggest either different spindles other than the Versailles or maybe trying to flip tie rod end and putting it in from the top which will require drilling out the holes....I don't know what to do, new stuff everywhere under the front end, even lowered it... new P/S control valve (the old one was falling apart) the Versailles spindles are lower where the tierod end connects to it and the old school tech showed me what ws going on....while on the alignment rack he got me in the front of the car to watch the wheels, he then pulled down on the bumper of the car and sure enough the wheels changed direction, he then explained and showed me why..the tierod ends at the point where they connect to the spindles is too low causing the angle of the tierod to be off too much causing bumpsteer...also the Versailles spindle at the point where it connects to the tierod is more inboard than the Mavericks so this might also be causing some of the problem. Now I know what it is but what should I do about it? open to suggestions but don't say lower the front end again as the old school tech said it will still have the same problem with the angle of the tierod.
Get a set of stock disc brake spindles, and try that. Should put the tie rods where they were supposed to be. Hope it works out.
try fliping the tie rod over like the guy sugested. you can get a reamer to ream out the hole. or get the right spindles.
Ok if I drill out the hole to flip the tierod, will I need to worry about it being sloppy in the hole as it will not be tapered any more or do you think it will be ok....seems the nut should hold it ok to me, but I don't know And everyone talks like Maverick or Granada spindles are easy to find and cheap sooooo where is this mythycle place I can find them easy and cheap...the spindles that is lol.
