    Fibreglass Grabber Cowl Hood

Just an up date on the Grabber Cowl hood ,i stopped by Token Proformance Fibreglass today to see how things were comming along.Ken told me that he has to wax then polish the hood 12 times ,that is now finished so this Saturday he will be building the mold for the top side of the hood (Scoops and Cowl side ) them making a casting. Next week will be the same process with the frame stucture of the underside of the hood ,(ie :were the hood hinges go and the hood latch goes ,he will build a mold and make a casting. He did say to me in these very words ,Jimmy i dont blow smoke up anyones ass ,a plug is either good or no good ,yours is perfect. He told me that the finished product is only as good as the plug and my hood is perfect. He said the finished hood will look like it was glass,i cant wait to see the first one. Im still targeting June 21 for the first complete fibreglass Grabber Cowl Hood.

So an update again on my Fibreglass Grabber Cowl Induction Hood. This is for thoughs that are interested in this hood and to see all the work thats involved in this .This is the underside frame structure that will be waxed and polished 4 times then sprayed with a releasing agent ,after it is resiened and fibreglassed into a mold it will look like the pics in post 54.What you see in these two pics that is grabber blue will be the frame structure, everything else under the hood will be all open,NO bracing as it will be very stong and very lite (22 lbs) There will be a ton of room under this hood for a 302 block ,a 351 w block and i think even a big block with intake ,carb and air cleaner.Ps I have talked with Ken the owner of Token Proformance fibreglass about possible doing a Comet GT fibreglass hood(that is fuctional) if this project is successful.

    Jimmy,

I know you can't answer this right now, but when you get back can you tell me if you're thinking about doing a cowl induction style Comet hood or are you talking about a regular scooped Comet hood?

    Just curious,
    -Scott H.
