I did a barter job (PC work for leaf spring replacement). He wants me to make sure I have "everything ready" when I get there. I assume that is:
    1) leaf springs
    2) shackles
    3) bolts (in-case they break or have to be cut)

I have seen places on here where the springs are available. Are the shackles and bolts available too? Is there any thing else I may need? My car also has bars on the leaf springs, I think they are called traction bars? I know they need U bolts. I noticed there are some u botls on the leaf springs, where do I find those? Bottom line is I want to know what I need to have for him to put new springs on.
    Thanks a million

Make sure you have the right shackles and bushings, Mavericks are a odd size...unless you car is a powerhouse, you can remove the traction bars...

Sounds like you have everything. I had to replace the u-bolts on one of my recent leaf spring replacements, but they were available from the local parts store. I took what was left of an old one with me to get the right size.

Ok, talked to the JCwit guy and got that all figured out (just need 1 per side). They did not have any bolts. Where can I get them?

The bolts are part of the shackle(OEM), the nuts come off and then the plate, the opposite plate has the bolts stamped into it.

The bushings come with the shackle set.
Are you talking about U Bolts or Eye Bolts? Either of which Joe at General Spring should have. I picked mine up locally at St. Louis Spring http://www.saintlouisspring.com/

I have a set of those 4 leaf springs frm General; they ride a little stiff for me. Some folks don't have an issue w/ the ride. If I'd known what I know now I wud have removed the 4th. leaf, B4 I put them on. As long as Im on a smooth surface they're ok, on a ruff surface - another story. I still plan on removing the 4th leaf - just the have'nt got around to it yet.

I was talking about the bolt that would go thru the leaf spring eye on the non shackle side. I realized the shackle end would have a new bushing and bolt. I wanted to get new bushing and bolt for the other end. Am I thinking about it wrong?

The springs will come with new front bushings installed. Eye bolts and the nuts are sold seperately.

Mojo, I am thinking about adding a extra spring ( was 2) to mine, is there a size to keep in mind? where would you recomend picking it up? Local parts store or a summit type of store? Any advice on what to look for would be apeciated also.
