The shorty (or maybe 3/4 length) headers should clear the Column shift, just need to be back to one tube by the time you get to the linkage.
Ok guys, so are we sure the 88400's and the 88304 will fit column shift. Ok the other monkey wrench is if I go with a P header.
P headers will cost closer to $500 bucks. Hookers and Hedmans are more like $150. I will disconnect the header to swap plugs a whole lotta times before I think I need to spend THAT much more on headers...
I plan on doing an article about it in an upcoming issue of the MCCI newsletter "Shorthorns" with lots of pictures.
From what the APP chart says PS- Yes with drop bracket PB- No Man trans- No, for both floor ans col shift Auto Trans- Yes, for both floor and col shift
ok, it sounds like the 88400 header will work with the P head, but you may have to remove them to change plugs. Can someone confirm. Also, is there a header that works with the P head. That may be a pain to remove header just to get plugs out. Then again, you should not have to change them that often.
Also, are teh 88408's the same just heavier gage and ceramic coated. Looks a lot better and will probably last longer. Anyone with these and a col. shifter??
88400 headers!@#$% hey i got a column shift and were hookin up a b&m foor shifter and i was wondering how much trouble did u have putting those 88400s on. could i put them on my 302 out of a 89 stang and just drop it in my 72 mav? or would i have to put them in from the bottom..and if ill have to mess with the powersteering any?
