I'm new to the site, and looking to buy my first Maverick. I'm looking for a 1974-75 maybe a 76 with a 302 and a sold body. Wish list 4 speed, bucket seats and ac but like I said that's a wish list. If anyone has a car or knows of someone wanting to sale please let me know. I live in Virginia near Richmond. Wanting something to drive now. I'm finding Mavericks on line but they have all seemed to need alot of work, or were sold and it was an old post. I hope you guys can help and Thanks

    :Welcome: from Northeast Pennsylvania

That's a pretty good wish list.

302 - buckets - AC is findable. You will have to put a 4 speed in yourself unless you find a car that someone already put one in. Mavericks never came with 4 speeds from the factory.

Look for a 3 speed car and you will already have the clutch set up. The rest is easy. :thumbs2:

Thanks, but I believe I my have found one. Has anyone heard of a 1971(not a 72 but a 71) Maverick Sprint? The ad said the car was made in late 71 before the olympic addition came out. So the car is suppose to be a sprint but not an olympic sprint. I haven't found anything on line. Either way the car looks great. My wife and I are going to go look at it next weekend. Wish us luck.

I think this is the one you are looking at:
    http://www.oldride.com/classic_cars/148484.html

...it is also listed here, if this is the one:
    http://www.jameslist.com/advert/112598/for-sale-ford-maverick

Not for sure if this is actually an original Sprint. They were supposed to only has been released in the Spring of 72, with the options listed below.

I know the hood is not painted like a Sprint, and the Sprint was supposed to have dual side racing mirrors, and these pictures show only one.

Maybe one of the Sprint guys can chime in here.
    ----------------------------------

It was released in the Spring of 1972.
It was a trim code only with "RB" in the Trim Code Box
The Sprint option was available in the spring of 1972. Pinto and Mustang versions were available along with the Maverick.
All three models sported unique patriotic red, white, and blue paint schemes and a "USA" logo on the rear quarter panels.
Interiors were unique as well, using blue and white vinyl with red accents.
In addition to the visual package, the Sprint option included:
    1. Dual Racing Mirrors
    2. White sidewall tires
    3. Trim rings and hubcaps

Even if it is not an actual Maverick Sprint, it looks from the pictures to be a sharp looking Maverick. Good Luck.

Thanks, They say in the south never let the truth get in the way of a good story.
So its a 71 sprint just not the olympic sprint. henice the different paint. Ford had a mustang cobra why not a maverick sprint.

There is no such thing as a 71 maverick sprint. I dont even understand what they are saying this option came with? The stripe on the hood is not original.
