Okay after 3 days of messing with it, I finally got if off, and now the gasket appears to be too small. Is it supposed to fit over the pipe onto the lip? Because it just seems to not be big enough. :(

If there is any of the old part left, take it with you to the parts store or muffler shop so they know what size you need. When buying parts for your car, if the part is small enough, take it along, so you have it to compare with the new one. That way you know you are getting tha right part and that it will fit when you get home.

Or you could measure the part of the pipe it slides over and just measure the new one before you buy it.
I have had some that were tight but never got one that was the wrong size... I must have better parts guys.

Well there wasn't even one on there when I took it off, and one of the bolts holding it on had a lugnut on it for a spacer. The old man that used to own my car ghetto rigged a lot of things.

There are some manifolds that are shaped to fit the pipe. Is yous shaped or is it that the gaskett is stuck inside it maybe?

Well nothing is stuck up in there, so I guess he just took it out and tried to rig it. It could be shaped but I don't know, as I've said before when it comes to cars I have no clue.
