we're gonna dyno the 331 engine once it's completed. Cam .542/.563 224/232 (112) 185cc AFR heads 1995 roller block probe pistons (-20cc) 8.7:1 compression going to run a 600 holley intake will be performer RPM
with big dyno headers and aggressive timing since its NA for now my guess is: 459HP@6,500 435TQ@4,500
410hp @ 6100rpm was sticking in my mind as well, with a good tune. Probably 380 torque @ 4800rpm. Just a guess though. (You will post the numbers when it's done, right???)
trick flow stage 2. I would be really impressed if it made that much power with that low of a compression.
I'll post for sure. The dyno guys needs a 2 day headsup. We're gonna rebuild the holley bryant has and I'm waiting on valve covers and an oil pan to come in. Maybe just some other little stuff left to finish but then it's off to the dyno . . . it's a little pricey though, $450 to dyno it. Gonna be picking up extra shifts at work.
Just a thought (suggestion)... I would build it with around 9.7 :1 compression and use a 650 street avenger carb. It would make quite a bit more power and still be pump gas friendly.
I should have mentioned guys, the engine is going to have a vortech supercharger put on it. So we built it with low compression. And I should add that I got a killer deal on a used supercharger. A V1 S-trim with all the hoses and brackets. I figure the headunit will need a rebuild and it's good to go.
LOL nevermind, ninja edit I missed 331 part 402hp at 5750 Without a doubt on boost a block splitter Nice build
on the low side 386hp high side 405hp Cam,Carb, low compression all workin against ya but the blower will wake it up for sure I see 535hp to 545hp w 6-9 pds boost or so......
We went over to some cam shop in San Diego, the guy said the cam we have is decent. He wasn't the most thorough guy I've run into but still, he said he would run that cam for both the NA and once the SC is installed. The carb seems too small for when I get the SC, we'll probably go with 650-700 blow-through.
