I don't know of a rod that fits our cars and a 4 barrel. My cable came with that spring bracket and they do have some that are not braided. It wasn't much for the basic style.. The cable type is a little bit of work too.

IF you do go cable I suggest not cutting the cable untill you have driven the car or are absolutly sure you have the setting correct.

This is where I got mine. I remember now that I looked at it that I got the braided cause it was the same price. I am pretty sure the bracket came with it but it's been a few years. If you call them they can answer questions, they answered mine so I went and checked them out. I ended up buying quite a few items there. Lucky for me I can drive there.
    It's on pg. 92

Not much feedback thus far about the rod. My experience about the rod is that nothing fits for our cars and our cars did not come with a 4 barrell. If someone made something work I wish they would speak up..

No. You still need to install it properly and the transmission has to work ;). There is an adjustment procedure and modifications I hope you can handle. The mods under the car were tight and took some patience. My big belly didn't help. Even a rod requires the correct adjustment and mobility. If all goes well it will work. They wouldn't be selling this stuff if it didn't.

I guess I don't understand the question. Mine is a Lokar, both are.
