I will be in Louisville the latter part of the second week in August. The Kentuckiana Classic Cougar Club, of which I am a member, is hosting an All Ford car show at the Masonic Home on Frankfort Ave in Louisville. Previous shows have had 100+ cars on the average. The date of the show is Sat, August 14th, beginning at 10 AM. You can go to our website, www.Kyianacougars.org for more info.

Two years ago, several of us met at a cruise the night before that show for a similiar mini meet. All who attended had a great time and it is nice to put the face to the name. Since this show is only 15 minutes from John Ford's home and Pinky is back on the road, I felt it was a natural setting for a venue like this one. Dave has expressed an interest to bring the Smurf, and perhaps we can pursuade Jerry to bring his Stallion or Sprint.

I will have to spend some time helping the club, but would like to meet all you folks in the area if possible. I plan on spending more time in Ky in the future since I will be semi-retiring in a couple of months.

    Anybody up for it?

John, I believe that cruise is the 3rd Friday night of each month. The show had to be changed to the 2nd Sat becuse of a conflict of events at the Masonic Home this year. Jeff Giffen, the Pres of the club, is looking for something to do on Friday night, but he has not gotten back to me about it yet.

That is why I suggested the show instead of a cruise. It is not necessary to bring a show car to attend the show. If someone wanted to come without a car or not enter their car in the show, they could still hang out, just not display their car in the show field. We can have a photo session after the show with all the cars if needed.

the show sounds good to me. I have it on the calendar. Maybe you, me and whoever could meet up for dinner Friday night if there is no cruise it to go too or you have nothing else going on.

Jim how are things going with this?
It would be fun to get together Friday night. I know there is a few people from out of state talking about coming in for the show.

    John,

Sounds good to me. I should get to Ky on Wed. where I will be staying with my sister in my hometown of Hodgenville. I will be in Louisville sometime Friday. I will be staying at my friends's house in Shively Fri and Sat nights. My buddy Keith may be up to coming with me to meet up with everybody if you want. He is going with me to the show on Sat.

I sent out an email to all the members in the Cougar club last week about anything going on the night before the show. No responses, so I don't have an answer as to events that night.

Who have you heard from so far?

Your quote seems a little backwards lol...most leave here FOR Florida...:thumbs2:

    Maxx,

That is the normal process. Well, I plan to be in the Sunshine State during the winter. I still don't like cold weather and my son lives in Tampa. However, between May and Oct, I wouldn't mind living on a lake in Ky. In fact, while I am in Ky on this trip, I plan on looking at properties around Nolin Lake. It is near to my hometown where my sister lives and not too far from Louisville, Somerset, Bowling Green, and other places where car shows and friends live. Best of both worlds.

I have looked and looked, I cannot find any cruise-ins going on that night locally.
Shively is about 10 minutes from me via I-264.
I guess I can figure a place to meet for dinner if you want.

    John,

Hold up on any Friday night plans until you get some firm commitments. I spoke with my former brother-in-law tonight(he had the red '68 Shelby tribute at the cruise). He wants me to stop over Friday, so perhaps he, Keith, and I may go to Pizza King(my favorite pizza) in New Albany that night for dinner. He may also come to the show as he did 2 years ago. I will know more as time gets closer.

Perhaps we can plan something for after the show. I am staying in Louisville Sat night.

    Hi Guys
If I can get that darn Power steering hose fixed on the Stallion I'd love to come. Work has been a real dog lately so I missed the thread earlier.(Sorry). I wish the Sprint was done so I could bring it. Perhaps next time but for now me and the Stallion can make it!

There is a cruise the night before the show at the Dairy Queen aat 9080 Dixie Highway between 6-10PM. All participants in the next day show are encouraged to attend and park together. Should be a fun evening!
