fired up the maverick today with the boy on my lap (he's 3) and when he heard the 302 he yelled WOW! so i let him play around inside the car while i sat with him and when it was time to come inside he started crying "NooOOooo Mavverickkk NNoooOOoo" and he tried using the door handle to attach himself to the car.. now he's walking around with sadness in his eyes.. he's for sure a maverick boy! *takin him back outside when mom says he can go play in the big boy car"
good idea, i'm just so excited that he's excited i didnt even think of that, i'm going to get pictures of him in different stages of the resto aswell... thank you for such a good idea
Both my kids grew up around my cars, I have pictures of both of them in my car, when they were young. Now they fight over who gets what one, when I die....
That might be sooner than you think. I read where Frankie and the boys are coming to the Roundup!!! Jim
I have had some great memories with my boys and PINKY. This was on the cruise in Joplin Friday. We had rode all night to get there and had not been in the car 10 minutes and he was out! My car is not quite so you know he was tired.
That is awesome. My son is three also. Well, nearly four now... Man the time goes by. Anyway, he loves my car. He says nobody can catch us in it. He's been known to try and instigate races with random people in parking lots. He'd always rather ride in the Maverick than anything else, tells his mama that her car is too slow and her music isn't loud enough. Today, we had a milestone similar to yours. We were at the table eating dinner and he said, "Daddy, when I grow up I can use your car sometimes, right?" I told him yes of course, and maybe it might even be his car some day. He couldn't stop grinning after that.
that is super awesome. i bet he has wild dreams LOL.. this is my first maverick and im in northern ontario canada. so parts are far and few in between. i'v been doing alot of rust recovery so for me it means the world that he is even slightly interested because my plan was to give it to him when he goes away to college. i'm going to spend all the time in the world between now and then to make it the best i can... i'm very new to the old car thing, always loved them since my daddy's 69 charger and well.. i'v always been attracted to ford and didnt want to get a mustang like countless friends i know that have mustangs... i'm so excited,i also have a daughter who is 6 and she already loves getting dirty and using a sanding block, so this car to me, completed my family.. i'm so happy with what it has done to bring us all closer that it makes me a little sappy and emotional.. hahahahhaha.. the best gift my lady could of ever bought me. (well all of us i guess)
thats awesome man,i uses to fall asleep when my family would go to the track usually as my dad was warming up his car lol
