My Transmission has been acting up a lot lately.
Thanks to PaulS and a few others I've concluded that it's the foward clutch burned out.

So My dad tells me "Hey instead if just replacing the transmission, why not swap the enginge too?"

    And I say "Well, okay"

And he says "Buy me a part for my car and I'll give you a 351 with transmission"

And I say "Oh man, really. No way I would ever want that *sarcasm*!"

So now I have a week off to help him get the engine / car ready for the swap.

    Color me PUMPED.

did this 351 come out of a mav/comet? if so, what headers are on it?
if not, what headers are you going to run?

Not sure what the 351 came out of.
My dad knows that part, he has twoof them. One from a late 60's mercury and another form a something or other.
My dad said he should have some good headers that will fit snugly and keep us from having to do too much fabrication to the shock mounts.

It's an older engine, but I planned on spending at least $1500.00 anyways. Now that extra $1300.00 can go towards wires, replacing gaskets, and all that type of stuff I'll need.

    *edit*

Also, any local want to buys some decent shaped small bumpers for their Comet? Front is a little bit bent, the brackets are rusted beyond belief. Chrome is rough (flaked off in spots) but not rusted.
