I'm looking to put an electronic fan in my Maverick and I was wondering if the Flex a Lite Black Magic X-treme will fit. I know the Black Magic will fit and that the Taurus has an interchangeable (with minor modification) fan, but I'm looking for something with a little more flow, as I plan to keep my A/C. http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/html/180_black_magic_x-treme.html

Yes, it will fit...I have one. I used side brackets to clamp it to my aluminum radiator. This fan really...er...sucks. :) Come to think of it, it really blows too...:D

    DOH!

Hey, man, thanks. Nice engine by the way. I need to get myself a pair of those valve covers!

And to Bryant, I plan on building up my engine to a 347 stroker with the works by the time I'm done, so I wanted a powerful fan to get the job done.

i truly belive that the taurus fan will be very close to that black magic fan in its air flow abilitys. i dont have a way of testing the cfm rating on the taurus fan so i cant give any data. ive used lots of different eletric fans on different cars and the taurus is the second strongest one ive used. the best one is the licon mark 8 fan. its just a little to big for the room in the maverick.
now i dont doubt that the black magic fan can cool your car. its a copy of fords fan desgine.

I order that fan to use w/ my setup. I did not have enough room between the waterpump pulley and the Champion alum radiator.
The radiator was just a little to thick. With other brand radiators U may not have that problem. I returned it and got a Flex-A-Lite Slim Line 16" pulling 2500cfm - it was a perfect match. My car is a mild 302 w/ stock gears and no plans to change the setup. I have fac air setup but plan to go to modern setup. I believe the fan will be adequate for that application as well.
