I am considering adding options that did not come with the car:

    • Grabber hood
    • AC - New dash and all parts
    • Grabber Mirrors (Install or get doors already with mirrors?)
    • Deluxe Interior with bucket seats (Black)
    • Power Steering and Brakes - could live without

My goal is to go show quality with the car while still using it to cruise.

My only need for the AC is to ensure my wife and daughter will cruise with me when its hot outside.

Looking for any tips or feedback. :hmmm:

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
the beautiful thing is that these will bolt in with no issues. Also a spoiler would be nice. If you dont already have one. I also like the grabber blacked out tailpanel/taillights. I did it on mine.

There is a good buy on carbon fibre hoods on the board. Los Angeles area, I think. Free shipping in the US. These are grabber hoods. There is a post with info.

I say go for it...will be a nice improvement on an already good looking car! (y)

I have the rear applied now and the getting the CF hood next week unless funds get short.

The only ones that concern me are the sport mirrors and AC.

Mirrors seem easy and look like just a few holes.

The AC with an AC dash - that seems like a chore and I want to use NOS parts. Anyone know anything about this swap?

Am I going overboard by using NOS parts for future value in 10+ years?

Not if you can find them but the majority of us don't believe that Mavericks will ever follow in the footsteps of the Mustang where NOS means so much. I've got a lot of NOS parts I've purchased over the years but it will be for one of my own cars. Not to increase the value because I don't intend on selling it anyway. It's just nice to use a NEW part.

I know you want to stay original but I wouldnt go to the work of the factory ac. Factory AC over an under dash modern system wont be much of a difference in car value. The factory system your going to need a donor car with complete AC. Few guys on here have done it but its a lot more work than it seems. Even as a tech with a full equipped shop at my disposal I would opt for an aftermarket, modern system myself.
You certainly dont want to use the huge heavy factory compressor do you?? You can use a modern compressor on the factory system as another option.
If you want the car 100% original though thats your choice. You just have to be willing to invest the time and effort.

I agree that the value of NOS parts won't be a huge advantage and I don't plan on selling again.

The factory option is just for the dash and guts mainly. I was thinking of upgrading as much as possible while keeping it stock. I am torn though - the non AC dash looks nicer to me. (Without the big air vent)

Another option I thought about was an AC lower dash for the vents and then two under the dash vents - prefer to not see them.

Any one seen an install like this? Does it replace the defroster or can it?
