Do you mean he should have bent the bars so that it would clear it? I didn't think about that but that sure would have been nice.

The metal is not painted or anything. Do I need to paint it or spray it or cover it?

I would have to just mold the dash pad around the bar if I want to keep it looking neat. You making that cage yourself? It's pretty crazy looking.

Here are a few pics so you can see what I'm talking about!!! Also note how the bars go thru the dash...And for sure spray some paint on them bars or you'll get surface rust!!!!

No the dash pad barely has to be trimmed around the bars..

Bronco loaded with uhaul, cost me $50 and another $40 for the tow ball thing.

You can see the arm rest pads don't fit no more. Kinda wish Mike gave me the options of having it removed but I do recall him saying the bars are stronger if they are straight for the most part.

He removed the rear package tray and put the bars straight down. Looks nice going straight down. Not as low key but sweet.

I haven't replaced the carpet. Just got one seat in and these pictures are from this morning at work. the girlfriend needed my bronco so I had to drive the maverick like this.

Here is the bars in the trunk. I really think he did a clean job. Cut away the sound deadener stuff very clean, grinded off the RUST BULLET stuff.

You can't see it from this view but he actually bent the metal up and it is welded up on the sill as well.

Can I paint the bars with RUST BULLET? I really liked it on my floors, worked well. But obviously I don't have rust on the metal yet, that should be ok right?

Looks great Doc. Those door bars should keep the feet away from your Infinities. :)

    Looks good, nice welds.....

I like to paint my roll bars/cages with Rustoleum Hammered Finish, I get it at home depot..... Looks like hammertone powder coat..... I brush it on cause it makes way less of a mess and you can't even see the brush strokes when it crinkles up while drying.....

It's a little hard to see in a pic, but here's a pick of part of my cage in my old 85 stang after painting with this stuff.....

took me only an hour to remove my seat, put in the carpet, make some cuts and put the panels and seats back in. Not bad at all.

Cage looks great. Those seats kind of scare me though. No head support. I think they would be next on my list. You dont want to smack your noodle off a bar.
