I was in my front yard helping my Mom with yard work and my Grandfather stopped by and told us to get in his car because he was going to buy us a new car to replace our beat up hand me down '55 Ford. He had a blue 4 door Maverick picked out for us at the Ford dealer but my Mom did not like the four door and asked if she could pick out a two door. I was only 7 years old at the time but she let me pick it out. I picked the medium yellow gold '73 2 dr that I have in my garage today. I learned how to drive and grew up in that car. I am currently restoring it so it is in pieces but it is a neat feeling to still have my first car.
That is a cool story. I remember going with my dad when he picked out the Swiss-Aqua colored 71 F100 I still have. When I was about q5 he bought a real nice 76 E150 van and parked the 71 F100 and gave me the keys. I learned to use the clutch by running up and down our hilly driveway of about 200ft. clint
