Am going to start on my 4dr soon. Got the 302 in stalled with shorty headers too. Looks like a fabrication on the cross shaft and pivot ball will have to be done. Have always used floor shifters before but want this car to be a sleeper with three on the tree c4. Car has 39000 original miles on it.

How much of the linkage do you need? I have the stuff I pulled off my 71 that I won't be using when it goes back together.

There is your problem. The linkages are different.you need to get the proper one for a v-8.

Did you re-use the transmission that came in the car?

The reason why I ask ... if you got another trans and it was from a floor-shift car, the rod coming out of the trans that the linkage attaches to is flipped 180 degrees and has a bit of a different shape to it.

the bracket from the inline 6 doesn't fit on the 302 and the rod doesn't slip into the engine
could i get one off the ltd ii and have that work it was column shift
