its a gamble. it could have bad valve seals or they were left out of the rebuild. the rings might have not sealed but that would raise alot of flags about how it was rebuilt. need to know when it burns oil. only at start up? only when floored? just when cruseing? all the time? does it billow out clouds of smoke? did they happen to do a compression test and a leak down test? why are they selling it instead of fixing it them self.

I didn't know they still had a Falcon in 74. Bethat as it may, it could be the rings were installed incorrectly too, or they didn't install new valve guides in the heads. $350 ?? Maybe. It's got $150 worth of intake and valve covers there.

    rings installed incorrectly...
    30 pistons in a 40 hole....
    block bored out-of round/egg shaped...
    worn valve guides not replaced...
ran hot on startup and glazed the cyls/rings...:yup:

maybe worth taking a chance if it were a...roller motor...

Not sure about a 302 but I once had intake sealing problems on a 351W that used oil and smoked once at operating temperature. It was sucking oil into the intake port through the valley because of an intake gasket leak. Best I could figure anyway. I replaced the gaskets and it fixed the problem anyway

Don't laugh. Has anyone realized that the only two storms to enter the Gulf, both petered out once over Gulf waters ? I wonder if BP isn't onto something here. :thumbs2: Both were billed as sure to strengthen once over warm Gulf waters, but both dissapated unexpectedly:16suspect

I would suspect that is because oil causes the sun to reflect the suns ray instead of being absorbed by the water starving the hurricane for fuel.(warm water.....just a thought I'm not a meteorologist.......but I do play one on TV:D

So, just maybe that can be used as a hurricane prevention technique. I already started filling the patent request!!!!:rofl2: I am gonna make (in my best Dr. Evil voice) one billion dollars :29:........

    Dream on:p

Maybe the sheen on top isn't allowing the water vapor to rise ? Who knows ? But it is strange that these two storms failed to strengthen and dissapated once over the Gulf.
