i admit it. i get jealous. i read the posts about people walking into there favorite junk yards and becoming overwhelmed at all the 302, 5 speed, grabber hooded, rear spoiler, rust free, 5 lug, perfect interior mavericks and comets. there seem to be so many that people must shoot pictures just to rub it in my face that i live in the Canadian salt belt and all the older stuff was long ago shredded to make more cavilers and neon. (they are all in the yard now) i work with teens. i spend every day with teens trying to help them negotiate the adolescent mine fields that is before them. i had a 15 year old today who had his grandfather die a week ago and has been in a fog ever since. i needed to get him out of the town and away from the people he sees everyday. I threw him in my truck and began to drive to Winnipeg (40 minute drive) on the way i was trying to figure out what made this guy tick. he isn't into computers, music, games, or sports. he has a family that is very geek-tech and try to encourage him but they don't seem to speak his language. i asked him what he wanted to do for a living and he sheepishly said "construction" i told him this was a great job and lots of people make awesome careers out of this. he brightened right up. i asked him if he liked working with his hands and he said he loved it so off to a junk yard we go. we walk in and make it about 4 feet when he said "is that a maverick?" no. but it sure was a comet so i hurry over to look. rust rust rust. and 2 high back bucket seats in good condition for $30.00 total!!!
Excellent find! .... especially since they have the right seat tracks for your car ... cat humps!!!! ... (boy, would those two words sound just plain wrong out of context ... ) Nice score. Did you grab the rear seat too?
I admire you for the work you do and a great find to boot. I am amazed the kid even new what a Maverick was. lol clint
