You won't get much more than a core price for it unless you can prove some reason for more money. Cores in this area go for $75 - $150.

used engines are a hard sell - you need to find someone who wants to build one.

You also need to give it more than a few days.

I sold my 1975 302 two barrel out of a Mav for $150. It started and ran great with no smoke or noise. It was complete as pulled, with carb, alt, brackets, oil pan, fuel pump, starter, and flexplate. Ready, to bolt in and run. I included pictures of it running in my ad with pictures of it holding oil psi, vacuum guage readings and included documented cyl. psi compression test results. Even with that, it took a month or two of weekly craigs list listings to get past the "I want it, can you hold it for me" respondses that were always no-shows. As was said before, someone will be looking for a builder. I sold the 72 302 out of a Comet for $75, because it did not have a carb or dist. so could not warrent it would run.
There are lots of late model roller cam 5.0 HO long blocks around here for about $150, so it is hard to get more than that for an older 302 other than for a restore or early block builder.

    Good luck, Farmall
