Yesterday she asked if i will ever get the maverick running? this was in the middle of unloading a used 302 that i just got from 74 grabber. (great guy to do biz with) anyway i asked her why she was so interested in my car. she said her dad was going to give her his import when she turned 16, but he sold it. she went on to say that i might consider the mav as a birthday present when she turned 16. i said that it was a good chance it could happen. With that she said ill give you a maverick for a maverick. then gave me a hot wheels maverick the same color as my 71. she also told me she had to be nice to her younger cousin in order to get the hot wheel. so i think im on the hook! they start so young!
It is better to get them interested in cars than many of the other choices they have out there. Set the hook and real them in.
My son couldn't have cared less about cars when he was growing up. But now I find out my 6 year old grand son is CAR CRAZY I took him to a car show 2 weeks ago because I was baby sitting him and didn't want to miss the car show. I thought I was only going to be "dragging him along". Once we got there he ran from car to car pointing and yelling "Look at this one". I was pleasently surprised - now he wants to go again
My son was and is the same way at 26 now. He could care less about the car as long is it starts and runs. Now my 19 year old daughter is a FORD nut. She is in college at Appalachian in Boone NC and looking hard at late 70's Ford F150 4x4's for the snow this winter.. I am looking also if anybody knows of anything in this area. clint
