heh,heh..there is just about no Maverick wiring left. :) Most of the interior harness came from an '80 T-bird, just like the dash did. I also had to custom make some harnesses for stuff like the auto dimming mirror and the power windows and locks and stuff. I got the center console from a place called Mustangs Plus (www.mustangsplus.com). They call it the "Hump Hugger", and it is an aftermarket console intended for early Mustangs.

I have not yet created any kind of directions for installing this dash...I first did it in my '77 back around 1993 and redid it in my '72 Grabber last year. I can tell you that it was not exactly easy. At the time I liked it because it had a digital speedo and gas gauge and a small trip computer in the center of the dash(they work, by the way :)). This dash also allowed me to install stuff like an automatic climate control and auto headlights, which I thought was really cool. Oh, and I thought the row of idiot lights at the top were cool too(low fuel, tail lamp/headlight out, etc).
I think the toughest part was mounting the T-bird A/C-heater box, which is completely different than the Maverick one and required tons of measuring, remeasuring, cutting and drilling to get right. After all of that, the dash was a very tiny bit wider than I had anticipated and I had to massage the area of the door where the dash was hitting to make it work. I am not sure anyone else will ever be able to duplicate this since I have had a heck of a time finding any parts for this dash board...seems most people did not care much for the T-birds of the 80-82 era(often called "square birds") and there are not too many left.
Anyway, I will be arriving tomorrow afternoon at New Castle for the Roundup for anyone who wants to stop by and take a look at my whacky project ;)

    Hey Mark!
Thanks for the pic...looks great....the kind of stuff you see in magazines. Looks great...sounds like way too much work for me now. Maybe in a few years when the old social security kicks in I'll be up to such an ambitiious undertaking. Fantastic job.
