Is any body here using the bearing perches from Dazecar ? I bought the kit and made the pair up but won't be able to change them for a couple of weeks. I'm just wondering if anyone saw a differents ? I know my front end bounces alot and I wonder if it's the perch not letting the shock and spring ride right. Thanks Rick Owosso MI
jayman has them in his. he said it was a world if difference and well worth doing. i just havent goten that far on my list of things i would like to do yet.
Thanks I just read the pages about them and can't wait to put them on. My front end is so stiff and thats the only thing it could be.
I've made a few sets of my own now. I have them on both 66 Mustang coupes, the 65 Falcon sedan, and my brothers 64 Falcon. Didn't get a chance to put a set in the Mav before I sold it, but I wouldn't go back I you paid me. Night and day difference just on the crappy roads of NJ.
Well I just got my new perches in and took it for a ride. Like people have said it's a BIG differents. Now when I hit a bump the front end goes up a little with no noise. Before the front always had a noise when it hit a bump. I put the old perches in the vise and used a pipe wrench and still couldn't move them. When I was putting everything back together I noticed when you go to pull the top of the shock so its straight and put in the bolts it moved so easy compared to before. The only thing about the Daze kit is I had to cut the tube in the center so I was able to get to the shock bolts , no biggie. Also when I had the first side done it pushed down so easy compared to the other side which didn't really go down at all. All in all I would say that the front end now rides over bumps instead of bouncing over the bumps. Well worth it. Rick
can you post a how to thread? right now my front end is torn down and i would love to know everything b4 it goes back together. thanks. Rick
If you go to the Dazes page it tells how to do it. I don't know how to type so it would take me about 3 days to do so. The only things I did different are, 1, I used a dremel and cut little tabs on the outside edges and folded them in a little. 2, I used my air saw and cut the tube out in the center so I had alot of room to get to my shock bolts. Keep in mind that I didn't cut the tube untill I had it welded in and honed so my bearings fit. Hope this helps. Rick
