Insurance company is totaling my 72 grabber

I bought a junker truck for $600 a few years back...a guy pulled out in frt of me and his insurance co totalled my truck. They gave me $2000 and I bought my truck from them for $200. I banged out the frt end and resold it...so at least around here, you can buy your vehicle back.

 

If you don't plan on keeping it I would be I interested in purchasing it if it can be bought at a decent price. I could deal with you OR the INS company. Let me know, serious buyer here.

Florida laws are funny about salvaged cars ... I do not believe that they can be retitled here. They can be exported, so that kind of tells me who pushed those laws through .... lots of cars leave here for the Caribbean.

I would fight this hard. Did you have collector car insurance on it or standard. Might pay to get an independant appraisal done.

 

Man, I'd buy that car, even with an export salvage title.

 

id also be interested in buying it (for a resonable buy in ) to save it from the scrap yard.

Sorry to see that. I'd also start looking at what some of these cars are going for in great condition and have some figures to argue with the insurance company if you need to.

I went through the same thing with my Mav almost 20 years ago. An old guy turned right in front of me (I guess he was in a hurry to get some Roy Rogers chicken) and crunched the hood, right fender and bumper. Damaged appraised at $1300, book value was only $750 at that time. I argued that my seats cost more than $750. The insurance company totaled the car, gave me a check for around $250, and I gave them $115 back to buy the car back from them. That's when I decided I needed collector car insurance.

 

I agree! No way I'd have regular insurance on mine. Mine is covered for $6500 right now, and it goes up every year, automatic.

 

when Earl had his fender bender and they paid off without any questions i got me some...Hagerty Ins......$20K agreed value...and she said i should raise that after i get Patches painted...it cost $50 a year more than what i was paying for just...liability insurance ...
