I did a search and didn't see the answer...but I am going to go ahead and put a new headlight switch in my car when I have the cluster out. Are there any suggestions as far as quality switches? I know most parts stores carry them...I haven't checked with Ford yet. Any no-nos?

Yes, don't buy the cheapo switches. Most parts houses - (I like Napa for electrical stuff) - has a generic switch and a top shelf switch to choose from. Cheapo is like $15 and top shelf is $35 (Echlin brand with Napa).

You get what you pay for with these electrical parts and the cheapo switches are junk. The only reason these places carry the cheapo switch is because of customer demands for cheaper and cheaper parts.

Like any part...buy the best and do it one time or buy the cheap and do it again next month.

Actually, I was wondering...do I go for one at NAPA or try to get a nos Motorcraft one.

Heck for all I know they are still available through the dealer. I've heard it is a rather common switch...but mine is a 1970 model. Not sure about what all crosses over.

Opted for a Motorcraft one. That makes $80 for the nos wiper and headlight switch. Cheaper switches would be ok for other things, these are just a little hard to get to...I feel better using Motorcraft stuff.
