new drag wheels

    just put my new wheels on to see what it looks like but i have to get longer studs before i can mount them.what do you guys think.i think they look awsome.

    Why do you need longer studs? Those take a long shank lugnut that reaches the studs.

    probably because he needs to satisfy the NHRA regulation on required length extending through the nut.

    yeah mercgt is right i have to have the studs go thru the lugs so they are visable to the nhra techs.but no biggie my buddy has a 20 ton press for the fronts and the rears i can just knock out.

    If you put longer studs, how do you take up the space the shoulder of the lug nut would have occupied? I have a set of Drag Lites on my Maverick. They are easy to keep shiny.

    im using open end lug nuts if thats what you mean not closed end like on an everday car.the officals have to see the treads on the studs exsposed by at least 1/2 inch.

    I use open on the comet as well with 3 inch stids in the rear and then I stick a 1.5 inch tall lug nut to top it(over the open ones) off for cruising so it doesn't look so bad
