I did a search and looked through the tech articles and couldn't find the answer to my questions. I keep hearing about the Metro booster. Who has one on their car? I was wondering if the master cylinder I have now from a 74 mav w/front disc will bolt to the master cylinder or will I need to get a metro master cylinder and adapt brake lines. Also what mods are needed to the pedal rod, use the mav rod or metro rod?
I was playing with one a few years ago, I had it bolted up, I was just having a issue with finding a rod to go from the booster to the master.
this is info i have been looking for as well! are we talking GEO METRO boster and master because lines and fabwork with rod is not a problem. just looking for somthing that will fit and have good pressure to the calipers on a four wheel disc sys.
Theres a lot of falcon guys running them. I havent ever seen any maverick with them, but im going to try to use one. Im not dead set on it though, im going to take measurements of several cars at the junkyard to see if any will work better.

Thanks for this info guys! looks like what i've been looking for. Ive been checking alot of cars in and out of our shop, and at the local yards! the only thing i've came up with as a possibility is a Saturn SL2 thin booster and short master but booster is to big around for my application using FI sys. with plenum it would interfear.
The Geo master cylinder does not meter, proportion or provide residual check valves. It will work under light duty braking situations. It might not work well under panic stops and your rear wheel cylinders will not last unless you put a residual check valve inline.
Did the 4 bolts for the booster match up with the 4 bolts for our pedal assembly? The link didn't mention drilling holes so I think it bolted up and just needed the center hole opened up. Dave Are you saying you had room between the firewall and shock tower to fit the Metro booster with a maverick master cylinder?
I don't remember....I had planned on using one of the newer style Ford masters (the plastic ones) I'll see if I still have it out there, and mock it up on my project car, and see....(I'm getting old, I forget some things)
