Hi, I'm Morgan... I saw my first Maverick a few years ago for sale in a field on the side of the freeway. And I knew it was love at first sight :] But it was a four door and totally rusted through the roof; only $300 but my dad wouldn't let me buy it. I was almost 15 and saving up cash, and went on KSL and found that a Maverick that I had been watching went down from $2,000 to $900. I drove over that night and bought it. :] My dad is a mechanic so he's taught me how to fix it up myself. (I'M A TEENAGE GIRL WHO CAN FIX A CAR! OMG!!) I'm 17 now and the car is the love of my life. I've put new carpet in and I've reupholstered my seats and bought a new, very loud sound system in. Even though it's an automatic it's still the best to drive. Anyway. I think that's enough ramble about myself. If you want to know about the 3 horror filled years of fixing up my stubborn Mav just ask... I have plenty to tell.... lots of tears. :]]
Welcome, Morgan. Get some pictures of your ride on the site. We'd love to see it. Give us some more info. on your car, we'd love to hear more. Feel free to ramble on, that's what this site is all about.
Welcome Welcome Morgan from Utah. Happy to have you among the Mav - Comet fraternity. Share some of ur pic's and tears --- You're not alone. :Handshake
Oh sorry my bad haha. It's a 1975 250cid 6 cyl. And he's blue I will surely get some pictures up soon, before and after. Uhm.. what else... I guess one fun story was when my gas tank was totally rusted on the inside, except I had no idea. So I replaced my carborator and he still wasn't running right and I couldn't figure out what was going on. So I emptied out my gas, and it was a nightmare. The gas was literally orange paint from so much rust... I wept for my poor Mav. Trying so hard to run on that haha. It was awful.... So now I have a new gas tank with no rust! And now my Mav is happy. :]
Very cool. Welcome aboard. As a Tech its nice to see women in the trade even if its just as a hobby. I had a great co-op/apprentice in a 19 year old girl. She had no problems doing the job and had great mechanical skills. My middle daughter is really good with the mechanical way of thinking. She helped put my Mav together. I'm sure you enjoy working with your Dad. Now some pics or video is your next assignment.
Welcome to the forum!!! :Handshake I'm 17 as well and been fixin mine up for a few years now too! haha! sounds like your project is scootin along as well

Yeah haha trust me I'm working on those pics. I'm having some technical difficulties though. They will be on soon, trust me. :]] I'm just so unprepared! And I'm hoping to get some part websites or addresses to some junk yard in Utah I've been hearing rumors of. Where Mavericks are just sitting there waiting for me. And the people on here are so great. It's like a giant Maverick family. I could not ask for more. :]
