The Comet GT bucket seat debate...

Every base model(non-GT) '71 Comet that I have ever seen has what you have written in the brochure. I know of a '71 that is rusting away (or being eaten by a fig bush) that is dark blue, blue blue bench seat interior, white pinstripes on the original paint, bright trim on the wheelwells and trunk/end caps, V8, column shift A/T. She just won't sell, been trying for 15 yrs.
I think they were equipped that way in '71 because they were a new model and needed to compete with the Maverick as well as other makes.


As stated several times over the years, bucket seats were standard on GT's, optional on non-GT's.
