    Well yesterday was the two year anniversary of the day I bought the car. I think its come a long way since the day we bought it. I worked on it mostly by myself nights and weekends. The only thing I couldn't do was the actual body work. The dings and the paint. We took it out for its first long drive Sunday down to Ocean City and cruised around. The car handled pretty well, at least it stops and goes (LOL) after my first attempt EVER to do a disc brake swap. Still a lot I'd like to do to it but for now at least its finally driveable and looks presentable. Heres some pics;

    I had to give up playing with my toy trains for the last two years because of the car. Just wasn't enough money for both ! LOL

    Body looks really nice!! I'd have to lower it a couple of inches front and back.

    I also started mine in 10/08 and its also just now drivable. Feels good!!

    Looks Good, it has a nice "sleeper" attitude .... Love that! ... Congrats on being able to drive it around.... looking forward to that myself (hopefully soon).

    Had to give up the trains? ... I know what you mean... I had just filled up two display cases full of redline Hot Wheels. I was missing them bad. Had a bunch as a kid and had to scratch that itch. Finally got a bunch of them and looked around and my Comet hadn't moved in a long time... it became a matter of "what are you going to devote your spare time too?" ... I am in a band that actually plays gigs, too .... I would be a lot further along with the Comet than I am otherwise. I am having a GREAT time with both, and wouldn't trade off either one. :thumbs2:

    It does sit higher in the front than I wanted it to but after all of the hassle of putting in the new front springs I'll live with it that way for now. Im hoping they settle down a little after a while. I had someone ask me if it was a four wheel drive. I had to laugh! I do have nice new larger shiney chrome Magnum 500 wheels for it but I'm not gonna put em on until next spring.

    I like green. (y) My brother and I have been working on mine for two years also. Once I get an interior, glass and wheels I can start driving mine. Drove it around the block this past weekend but it's a little tough without a windshield.

    (y)Nice work. I like it. The hood and tail panel really make a nice touch "it stands out". I like the way it stands, it's similiar to the way my car stands. I know what ur saying abt putting on new springs; I put some on earlier this spring and the car rides much better. Anyway, congratulations and enjoy the fruits of ur labor.

    You installed springs in the spring? No wonder it sits high :rofl2:

    The train is your avatar and the hot rod Maverick drawing is your signature.. just some info.

    I was talking to Dennis (Mavaholic) and he told me to try and leave in the original valve like he did. So far so good with the original drum brake valve. I have the valve from the donor Maverick I got the setup from but I would have had to put in all new brake lines. I had just finished with the drum brake lines when I found the disc brake setup so I wasn't really up to changing them out. As far as the hood, a member here sent me the specs for the 70 grabber hood and the body shop followed the drawing and dimension with all but the center rear loop.
