Okay so I have a 74 Comet, that i'm trying to do an engine swap for. I took out the straight 6 and I have a 302 from a late 70's f-150. I don't know very much about cars, but i know i need mounting brackets because currently the engine is just not fitting in. I was just wondering if anyone knows where i can get some and if there's anything else i would need so i don't run into more problems after. Any and all information is greatly appreciated!

Bring it to my house and I will do the conversion for free as long as I can keep the 302.

Welcome Chris. You're Dad is just worrying about you because Dads worry about these things. A few things you'll need besides the motor are - smaller bellhousing for C4 trans(i'm assuming it has a C4), trans mounts can be reused, you'll also need the six cylinder motor mounts. Exhaust will need modified. Does it have power steering? That can get tricky. Maybe you can convince your Dad you'll drive safely. That will be easier! (y)
