    every once in a while my trans will buck going in to first at a stop light but if i put it in first on the shifter its fine what is with that could it be the valve body and my car has a cam and idles low

    Two things normally cause what you are experiencing:
    1. sticky governor
    2. Low vacuum at the modulator

    Neither is related to the valve body. You can check the manifold vacuum by "T"ing into the hose at the manifold and watching the vacuum as you drive. It must be above 10" Hg in order for the modulator to work properly.
    A sticky governor can be accessed by removing driveline and the extension housing.
    The spool valves can be polished and the assembly cleaned. You should also replace the "thimble" strainer under the governor body.
