I want to lower my car 2 inches. I can do it by either using drop spindles. Or i can get lowering springs. But which one will handle better? Thanks!
drop spindles helps keep the suspension in the stock location and geomenty. in theory that should be beter than springs.
Look in the Mustang books, Mustangs Unlimited, Year One, etc. Get them for a '69-'70 Mustang, and it should bolt up with no problem.
Ouch! $580? I think I'd go with 650# drop springs from Mustangs plus first. Aren't shockwaves less then that? At least w/o the rest of the stuff to go with them. The rest can be done low buck with a visit the the scrap yard to pirate some Lincoln air ride parts
My car handles very nice with just shorter, stronger springs in the front and beefed-up leafs in the back with lowering blocks. I'd love to do the drop spindles but right now there are other places on the car where $580 would be better spent.
I found a used set locally for $200 its said to have only five hundreds miles on it thanks guys for all the info.
Doesn't the Shelby redrilling of the upper A-arm location work on this?...I recently had a replica Trans-Am '66 Mustang that had the control arms cut and re-welded by Maeco Motorsports in Cali. which i believe is a common mod they do on their vintage race Mustangs
