Rick
the block came out of a 74. yes i too think its a good idea to replace lifters with cam, i just wanted to see if someone had a good bang for your buck idea. also what is the difference in stock as opposed to RV cam?
What ever cam you choose make sure your valve springs are up for it, and get an adjustable pushrod and check pushrod length of push rods. And as stated above new lifters with new cam ALWAYS.
If you're changing cam and lifters anyhow, why not upgrade to a roller? Just stay away from small base circle roller cams. And then you won't have to change lifters with each cam change.
