a motor alone doesn't get you into the 10s. on those wheels and tires i doubt the car would ever hook up. then its suspension probably wont transfer the weigh well either. nobody should claim a time that they don't have a time slip for.
Found another pic... I like the way it looks from this photo. I really like the interior also. Diff seats but the rest is pretty cool.
Didn't mean to offend anyone with the 10 second comment, but, the car weighs in at 2800lbs, capable of 800RWHP, full tube chassis, 3 link suspension, it's not a theory...... Sorry, I have pretty crappy pictures of the tin work, the rest of the car is still a work in progress........... With Centerline Wheels With Forgeline Wheels
Thanks, everyone likes different things............which is cool. Spectre puts the aluminum wings on all of their cars, and all of their cars are somewhat extreme. This Camaro was just finished for SEMA..... http://www.streetlegaltv.com/features/car-features/black-ops-spectres-widebody-second-gen-camaro/
I thought this had a R&C triangulated 4-bar rear. What happened? Any pics of the upper bar attachment? How is it supported? This tin work looks pretty good to me. Looks like a race car. The forgelines have my vote. How well does it do on the Autocross? It should do really well with that pwr to weight ratio and short wheelbase.
I can plug #s into a program and come up with a projected ET as well. For instance in the early 80's before desk top dyno (I'm old) it was common knowledge among idex racers that in theory a typical Super Gas car that weighed 2100 pounds with a driver only needed 500 hp to go the index (9.90). Now this (Super Gas car) was a purpose built car intended for only drag racing with a 4:56-4:88 gear running 14x32 slicks. Now If you are saying this Mav as it sits (no slicks) can go 10:99 I would have to agree with you but If you are saying it can go 10.01 to say 10:30 Id have to see a time slip to buy that. I guess we should have been more specific on which end of 10's was meant? I take it this car belongs to you then? Is the front valance pulled out a little and isn't it a 73 unit?
i think the wheels made that car look much better. i usually hate cross breeds...when it involves a chevy and a ford. makes no sense to see someone swap a small chevy in a fox body.. unless you havent got a brain enough make power on a small ford with a slightly larger budget. but in this case..i think the supra motor is kick ace. its outlandish enough to make sense!!! that motor with a stock bottom end is capable of much more that a 302 with a stock block. the frt splitter is a smidge overdone though! but i like the wing..at least on this car
Nice to see they cleaned off all the packing tape that was holding the top windshield trim on during Power Tour 2010.
I think it would look cooler without the old antena. Is there something more modern to use? I do like the car . it's cool.
Not sure, last I talked to Amir who owns Spectre, he was thinking either black or silver. Then he said he would leave it like it is for a while and beat on it a little more...... That tape wasn't holding the molding on, it was keeping us dry driving through all of those rain storms in Iowa.. Spectre wanted bigger tires clearances under it, one thing led to another and it was decided to just cut the entire floor out and build a tube chassis under it. The chassis shop built the 3 link then. Sorry, more crappy pictures from my phone....... Best way to describe it is it drives like a big go-cart.........
The car looks great in person. I was at SEMA all week and saw it outside. A friend of mine may be interested in my Maverick that I have for sale based on what he saw. Imagine a Pro Touring Maverick with an LS9. Trust me, It will be THE Maverick everyone will talk about. Stay tuned!
