ok people just found myself a mustang II right now and was wondering if there is anything good i should take off of it since its at a pick-n-pull close by to me,i dont really know if anything good will come from those to help with our cars but can anyone let me know thanks
If it's got the 8" rear, it will more than likely have 3.40-3.55 gears (if it's a v6 car, most v8 cars got 3.00s) and maaybe a posi. Should be a tag on the front of the stump held on by one of the bolts. If there's an "L"(limited slip) in between the first and the other numbers you hit paydirt(if it wasn't changed out and the now misleading tag was put back). Example-3. L 55. Most times the first number will be partially covered by the bolt holding the tag on. Those T-bar automatic shifters work well in Mavericks too.
i already got 4.11's in my car so but that posi sounds good if it has that anything else besides the shifter?? (ill prolly snatch that off it too)
Not really. But if it does have 3.40 or 3.55s get the stump anyways. Takes up little space and it's a good seller/trading material.
darn thought i found something good but i guess not:/ alright im gonna go tomorrow and see if it has it...
According to the Mustang II forum finding a Traction-Loc is a hard find. They talk like it was a very rare option. But that don't stop me...you never know if you don't look.
If it has the sport mirrors on it the bases are a little different angle but they will still work on a Maverick.
how hard would it be to take the whole front suspension from the mustang II?? and very true,im gonna go real quick and have a look right now after i get my check
Probably more trouble than its worth. You will need to graph the inner fenders/frame rails to your car. In other words…from the firewall to bumper. A kit will be a lot cheaper and faster. Rod & Custom kits fit your car. Not like the other kits that you make your car fit their kit.
just got back from looking at the car and it was pretty much torn apart already:/ no rear end,no t-handle,no mirrors...o well and alright then ill look into the kits then instead of wasting time on it,thanks everybody
The stock mmII front swap isn't as hard as said before. It was done by a member here for the installation of a big block and it looked factory when done. Just give yourself a couple inches on either side of the cross member and cut it out. You don't need to go all the way from the bumper to the fire wall, but you will need to be very skilled. Not as easy as a kit, but very budget friendly if you have the skills and tools to do it propery
