72' Maverick Restoration

    72' Maverick Restoration need help asap

    Don't currently have pics up, but am in the process of restoring a 72' Maverick. I am currently at a pickle and need to know what I should do motor wise, it is an inline 6 250 and is locked up big time :cry:

    Welcome from the great NW. There are people here that could give you better info that me with that problem but I would probably take the head off of the engine to see if the pistons are rusted and take it from there. Good luck. :tiphat:

    Thanks, hopin to get started soon on it im hoping for some good results when i pull the head im hopin to rebuild it :yup:

    Yes most likely a 302, think inline is trash anyways it is locked up and hasn't been started in over 20 years, i just dont know what to do with it once pullued out of the car

    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    Garden planter...big blue paper weight...Or a good project for a firstime rebuilding an engine experience. If you plan to put a 302 in it, dont bother with the 6. It will cost as much to re-build as it it will to square away a use running 302 and drop it in.

    Well im pretty well decided that im gonna go head and put a 302 in, what are some good places to get replacement parts
