I did not want to post this in the wanted section cuz I am not sure if I am looking for one yet, but I need some help on a decision. One of the smaller arms of the small bumper mounts on my car is bent. Not a lot, but I think it would be a PITA to get the angle back to make the alignment right. How hard are these to find? Should I just pay the shop 100$ to try and get it strait enough?

    Thanks for the info.

I fix bent ones I find in the junkyard all the time. I use a 4 pound hammer and a small harbor freight anvil

I will have to go get the parts from the body shop for pics. I have always wanted and anvil, LOL. Maybe I could fix it myself.

A good hammer, a decent vise/anvil and you'll have it to where it'll work and that extra 100 bucks in your pocket. (Unless you've gotta buy a vise and hammer)

I have access to those at work (sometimes I.T. repair can get serious, LOL). I could stay after and mess with it. Thanks for the input everyone.

I would probably have a spare mount piece like that if you don't get your straight.

It can go 1 of 3 ways

1- you buy a new one
2- you beat on it for awhile and fix it
3- you beat on it for awhile and it goes in the trash

odds are you'll need to buy a new, but why not give it a shot.

Heating it up with a torch makes it much easier to bend/beat back into shape, I have repaired several of those brackets that way

Great so you beat it back straight, straight to what? do you have a good example that is for sure straight? then when you take it back to the body shop and it still doesnt fit quite right then what? Then theres muddy water. I dont like to pay for anything I can do myself but I have learned over the years when to let someone else handle a project even if I can do it better than them. My opinion so its not worth much but let them do what your paying them for. by the way hows your hood fit? what do you think so far? any pics?

No, the hood is not on the car yet. They are getting ready to grind into the rockers and see how those are.
