Trans mount

    How hard is it to replace the transmission mount?

    Fairly easy if you don't try it with an adjustable wrench. Support the transmission with a bottle or floor jack with a block of wood and remove the nuts on the mount and drop the crossmember.

    thanks... got it out easy but then found whoever had the car before me hacked up the crossmember and welded the trans mount to the crossmember...lets just say they quality of work was terrible...so now onto replacing it...What would the point of welding the trans mount to the crossmember be?

    Where did you get that transmission? ITS YELLOW!
    I thought I was the only reman guy that painted transmissions yellow...

    got it replaced easily no problems thanks...fixed the vibration as well...much more pleasant to drive!!!
    heres some pics of the old one with the welded trans mount...

    haha...it was NOT me...i assume it was the guy before me that did it...terrible ideal and terrible job of completing ideal...Ebay maybe the right choice...a custom made one off ford maverick trans mount!haha
