Yes it's a bolt in (in terms of spring perch - u-joint & ds may need adjustment)....and bigger spline that only Wagons and Rancheros had I believe....maybe do a "two-fer" with the Pepsi machine....

it will bolt in and not need to be narrowed? as in install, fix u-joints and drive shaft, attach breaks and go?

Better jump on that 9 inch...57 - 59 Ford Wagons is one of the most desireable for our Mavericks and getting harder and harder to find. It's a direct bolt in!! Good score!

I would like that Pepsi machine for my garage. I wonder how much it would cost to ship to Texas...

I have a '57 for mine and the perch location is exactly the same...the backing plate to backing plate width is I think about 1/2" a side longer than std Mav.
I haven't done the ujoints on mine yet so don't know (search here) and the brakes shouldn't be an issue unless they need a rebuild (likely) in which case you want might want to consider a disc conversion....

Early ones only possibility was Equa-Loc but they were rare, also I understand E-L is not so durable or cheap to rebuild compared to later Trac-Loc. Course it could've been monkeyed with in the past 40+ years so who knows....

I have one from an old bronco, year unknown. It is also 1/2" longer on each side. I need to pull it out of storage and see if the perches match. That would sure be nice...

I've got a couple of the 9" rears from 57's that I bought a few years ago and haven't used yet. I paid more than the $225 for each. My friend who buillds cars said to jump on them. He can't find them anymore. :)
